Windmills

Actually, a windmill bag. It gets it's name from the way it's put together, basically four strips of fabric in the shape of windmill sails and the sides of the sails are sewn together to form the bag.

There is an inner and outer layer, both the same, so lots of colour on the inside too

Considering it's such a mishmash, I think the colours and patterns sit really well together.

Great fun to make and I learnt a lot about stitching and quilting in the process

Beautiful! I thought of dutch tulips when I saw the windmill and the shape reminds me of tulips and spring which we are sorely lacking!

WOW Carol a triumph of a bag! Beautiful patchwork and exquisite stitching.

Attended my first basic bag workshop last week, need to finish it off as not enough time in class. Not as detailed or intricate like your bag but one day i will get there :-) xxx

It does not look like a mishmash at all, it looks as though you spent ages getting everything to match. It is a beautiful bag! Anne x

Hi Carol,
I love the bag and would like to make one.... is there a pattern available please. I could wing it! but it would be easier knowing how to make it properly.
It look like you are veering more towards fabric than paper now, just like me.
Many thanks Jo x

Would love to make one of these bags as I like yours so much. Could a novice sewer do this do you think? I love the bright colours you have used, the lime really provides just the right accent for the flowers.
Brilliant! Love it !

Hugs, Neet xx
