I didn't plan this...

I've had the day off today (yay!)  and was looking round for creative inspiration when I remembered Jo Myhill's home decor canvas on the PaperArtsy blog.  I won't go into the detail as you can see the instructions if you click on the link but I've spent a very happy time mucking around with paint, Grunge paste, distress glitter and Treasure Gold etc.  My canvas was an old project I had started which was blue in colour with some stencil embossing round the edges. It didn't take long to cover it up with the Fresco paints. I didn't have any Liquid Leaf in the right shade so hence the Treasure Gold in White Fire instead.

I  had to use a wooden heart as I didn't have a papier mache shape. I also added some sparkle to the background with Stampendous Frantage Shaved Ice.  The flourish was embossed onto the heart with gold UTEE which you can also see if you look closely at the texture on the canvas.

I'm really pleased with the result

I'm also entering it for Simon Says Stamp's Monday Challenge which is "With a Flourish"  (although it is inspired by Jo Myhill!)

Here's a close up of the texture.  You can just see the stencil embossing from my previous project and I like the extra depth it added to the layers.

Thanks for the comment you left on my blog Carol. It isn't that GTA is disbanding - just that I have left. I look forward to seeing future exhibitions myself without the pressure of having to make work for them.
