Fun with Flowers at Paperbag Studios and PDCC 37

Roben Marie has just posted a challenge for this month over on the Paperbag Studios blog which is as follows:

" I think we will focus on flowers for this month. Use one of our flower stamps or add a fabric or paper flower to your creation!  We want to see your best take on flowers!!

To be included in the challenge, please leave a link to your project in the comments of this post by August 1 to be entered!  Have fun!

Winner will receive a $10 gift certificate good toward Paperbag Studios goodies!! :)"

This flower is made with Tim Holtz's Tatterered Florals die and I used the thistle stamp from the Little Feet plate as my inspiration.

... and here's a close up of the flower so you can see it in all it's 3D-ness!

.... and as Sarah wants to reach 100 entries on Play Date Cafe (PDCC37)  this week I've entered it into their challenge as well . I thought it might be stretching it slightly colourwise but looking at some of the other entries, maybe not!

Wow, Carol, that's fabulous. I love the fabrics and lace you've used, they work so well with the dies.

Definitely makes me thing of a bygone era when lots of lace and chintzy fabrics were the norm. It also makes me think of summer days (cooler than this one) with a breeze wafting lacy curtains at the window.

It's a beautiful card with such pretty colours. I love how you've echoed the lace in the background by adding it as a flower layer too. Like Jo, I keep meaning to try this.

I'm really not a big flower fan, Carol cos I think they're over used but you've done a brilliant job of this and - as Jo says - it has a really romantic feel. Then again, your work often does. Love the colours, too.
