An afternoon of die cutting...

I do enjoy using my Big Shot and cutting dies.  Most of the time though I end up just cutting things out and not doing a lot with them but today I got to grips with it and produced some cards...

The first one is a gatefold card Tim's Distressed Doily, then I made an insert using the Spellbinders Fleur de Lis die ( which is VERY fiddly to use) and one of the Fancy Tags.

I've also finally worked how to emboss the dies properly in the machine and am now using 2 rubber mats instead of 1.

This is the Memory Box Madera Corner cut 4 times.  I've totally stolen this idea from here but thought it would look really good in black and white. I can see me using this layout quite a lot

And then there's the reverse version.  I used some Memory Box Pinwheel dies dipped in glitter for the centre of this.

Hope you like them!

Beautiful cards! Great inspiration as I have all those dies and they don't get much use!

Gorgeous results Carol. I have always fancied a die cutting machine but couldn't justify the expense as I'm not good at making cards. One day, perhaps, if I get much better at it!

Like them? Love them! Surprising how you can use multiples of a die to get a good shape isn't it? I love the first one - the colours are really good together.
Hugs, Neet xx

SO pretty - and I'm another one who rarely gets the dies out, but you've inspired me!

Fantastic cards Carol! I love using dies, but usually get frustrated ad I only do die cutting ad and when needed. Which means that I have to de-clutter my desk first, whilst in a middle of a project. Must try to do some cutting in bulk sometime. But then, what card should I choose??? Decisions, decisions!!! Lol
