She's Finished!

Well here we are about two and a half months later with the finished doll. I'm so pleased with her; probably one of the most satisfying things I've ever made because it was a real sewing challenge.  For me, the two most difficult things were drawing the face (you can see a previous post about that) and turning the hands right side out.  Those little fingers are way too narrow to manage unassisted and I ended up using one of the medical instruments from work to help me turn them!  She's actually about 45 cm in height and that's with her legs crossed. She has definite character and I find I'm already talking to her!  All I have to do now is choose a name.......                    (You can click on the image for a more detailed view).

Your elf is gorgeous! She definitely needs a nature name. Beautiful, beautiful! I think you are an extremely talented doll maker. It doesn't matter if it was hard; you will learn how to make it easier so make more, more, more...please!

No wonder you are pleased with her Carol - she's amazing and so beautifully made. She'll need quite an exotic name I think - maybe a mystical one. I'm not really a doll person, but this one I love!

Well done for turning out such a beautiful elf doll. Her hair is gorgeous and I hate to think what sort of tool you might have used on her fingers. lol

Her name is Willow the Wisp, and you can tell by her smile that she's very pleased to be living with you. Absolutely stunning work, I'm simply amazed at the work that must have gone into it.
