Drawing

Now I consider myself to have a block where drawing is concerned. I don't really get it and I would love to be able to draw.  I've been having the odd go here and there but I think I've found a book that is going to help me get it.  It's by Danny Gregory.

I know this is probably a very simple "baby" type image to most of you but I didn't actually draw the chair, I drew the negative spaces around it and I'm really surprised that it actually came out looking like my dining room chair. Anyway  - if you would like to get into drawing, I could certainly recommend this book.  He has a great writing style, very friendly and easy going and starts right from real basics.

Now you really have me tempted - I used to be able to draw a bit but it really is one of those things that once you let it go, it goes. That looks good - not sure I could even do that, though, lol. Might go check out this book - thanks for the tip x

I feel the same as you with regard to drawing - it would be a very useful skill to have. I think your chair is very good and maybe I should get hold a copy of that book.

I wish I could draw too, Carol. This is great - mine wouldn't even look like a chair. Think I'll stick with the stamps. lol

fab chair! Can see you translating this into your fabric and using your soldering tool to remove the chair! I love this book; another great, great book for fabulous drawing exercises is Drawing Lab by Carla Sonheim - again, lots of activities to get you drawing without that critical voice getting in the way!
