Last weekend, I finally managed to attend one of Angie Hughes' workshops feeling that my stitching skills were finally okay enough to have a go! Angie has a new workshop just outside Ledbury at Trumpet Corner Art Studios and Tea Rooms (which also just happens to serve scrumtious food).
This workshop was called Tantalising Textile Tagbooks. I decided to follow a vaguely medical theme...
The most exciting thing I learnt during the day was how to image transfers with Bondaweb. I've always found transferring images can be a bit hit and miss...
but using a combination of Bondaweb and inkjet copies, it worked every time....
I also learnt about adding foils to fabric ...
.... and was reminded about how to add your own words to binding tape using the printer.
A really enjoyable day! If you are not near Ledbury (which is a lovely part of the country and well worth a visit), Angie has started uploading instructions to her workshops on her website so that you can create the projects in your own home.

Gorgeous tags. Although I would probably add flowers in place of the medical images. :) Love the details and it sounds like you learned many new tricks!
I 'need' that workshop, and your tags are fantastic. I love the way you have used all the separate components.
I must find out more about the Bondaweb transfer technique.
Oh woooow, these tags are fantastic!!! And yet again you've made me so jealous about your gorgeous lace which I still haven't been able to find anywhere...;(( Gorgeous work! xx
Whoa those tags are fab! Sounds like a great workshop.
fabulous! Love the lace detail at the bottom of yout tags! Hugs Juls
Your textile tags are fantastic, you are so lucky to have the opportunity to learn all these wonderful techniques, I will take a look at her website and see if I can learn from it.
The medical theme is so appropriate!!
Stunning tags and new info for me as I had no idea you could use Bondaweb - not sure it is even in a book all about transfers that I have - I too find they can be hit or miss.
Good to see you back where you should be .... creating stunning art.

Carol - those are just heavenly. Oh what a fantastic workshop - I would love to go to one like that. What a lot of different things your learned in the one day - it was just one day? Hugs, Neet xx
Wow, these are amazing. I always love a bit of stitching!
Great tags! The connection of skeleton next to lace makes impression. I like it! :)
That's such a fun workshop, isn't it! I've forgotten how to do the 'words on binding through the printer' and didn't learn the bondaweb transfer technique. I'll have to ask Angie this weekend. I'm doing the 'Inspired by Hundertwasser' an 'Bondaweb Birchwood' workshops....bring it on!!
