Studying done for the day and I needed to make something. I've been thinking about making a combination of paper and fabric journal for a while so off I went. The pages are torn from an old book and glued together in threes, left to dry and then painted. I didn't like the first lot of painting, it was too loud so I toned it down.
Not being one to plan ahead, I hadn't thought about how I was going to bind the pages so looking through my library of craft books for ideas (!) I've stitched a fabric tab to one edge. I just happened to have some curtain lining which I'd painted with diluted PVA lying around so it seemed appropriate. Sometimes I'm amazed at what's in my stash.
Haven't decided on the next step lol.

It's looking good so far, Carol. Glad you found some time for yourself between study & family. It's all too easy for life to get in the way of our creativity & I personally have found I am far happier if I have created just a little something :0)
this is going to be amazing. Love those tabs! and I can't claim credit for the wrapped daisy, it came from a scrap of old cloth, sadly I'm not that clever!!
It's looking interesting Carol, can't wait to see the next stage.
Ooh, looking forward to seeing the completed article - looks good so far. One day I WILL get out my machine... and good for you, getting the studying done first :-)
I like the look of your painted pages and what a great idea to stitch fabric down one edge to help the binding process. Glad there is someone else who gets carried away with enthusiasm!
Lovely colours and it's all looking very interesting, hope you show us the finished project xx
You have to keep us posted on this one. What a marvellous idea to use the lining for the stitching.
