Stitchy Squares

Some time ago, I bought my first copy of Sew Somerset (Summer 2010) which I thought was just fabulous.  Loads of projects I wanted to try.  So I've been raiding my local upholstery shop for their grab bags.  There was a particular project by Donna Downey in there that I thought I already had the pieces for and after a few weeks of playing I've finally come up with this  hanging.  It's about 23 x 23 cm (or 9 inches in old money).  You can enlarge the image for a closer view.

Oh Carol - this is gorgeous - I might invest in that magazine if you recommend it.

I hate trying to make inches with a passion - because I find it so hard stamping adn tiny bits of paper - but material - wow - I could cut out material easily and I love the fact that they really look a work of art on the canvas - brilliant - gorgeous

Oh wow, Carol, that's so gorgeous and, if I may dare to say, much more scrumptious than the ones in the mag.

This is so pretty Carol and a lovely combination of crafting and needlework. I love the way you have put all the bits and pieces together - that's the clever bit.

This is absolutely stunning Carol. I used to sew a lot years ago but sort of 'fell out' with it. I think something like this could just rekindle my interest,Lol!

Something a quarter as good as yours I would think of as an achievement!

I loved that project that Donna Downey did in Sew Somerset too. But I have to say your version is just as spectatular. You did an amazing job.
