This month's Craftstamper had a nifty project in it by Alix Waterhouse for nestabilities storage. My nestie dies sit in a basket buried under a table and I thought I'd be much more inclined to get them out if they were presented in a nice folder which I could leaf through. It ended up being more complex than I thought because I completely changed the design of the folder to make it more robust.
Firstly, I constructed the inner pages, pretty much on the style that Alix used. I then realised I would need something much stronger to hold the pages so got my husband to drill out the mechanism from a lever arch file. I then constructed a folder round this with mount board using basic book binding techniques and scrapbook paper (matching paper packs are very useful here!).
And finally, my engineering minded husband levelled the heads on 4 screws to look like rivets so that we could poke them through from the back to hold the mechanism in place with 4 nuts attached and hey presto - nestie storage with expansion still available!! (orders by email please ! LOL)

Great idea, Carol. Mine are spilling out of a shoebox! lol
What a brilliant take on the project Carol. I haven't any nesties yet but my other dies are in a basket under the table, lol, x
Absolutely brilliant
What an awesome idea!! Your binder is gorgeous!! I have my nesties in a couple Tim Holtz metal boxes, but it`s so hard to sort through! I would love a binder like yours! Hmmm....email orders hey??
Have a great evening,
Kim
Fantastic idea! Mine too are in a box which are hard to sort through.
Wow great idea, beautiful album
wow this is fab!
Brilliant collaboration between you and Simon!
That's a super-duper folder Carol. Full marks to you and your husband.
Well done, Carol - that looks brilliant! Mine are in a drawer with my now obsolete Sizzix Original, but it does the job.

Wow this is such a fantastic storage idea and I love how you've decorated the folder - very funky! I'm envious :) Px

Wow, that looks so handy. And beautiful too!
Excellent idea, Carol - aren't you the lucky one to get help on it, too?
This is a fab idea Carol. I have each set fastened with a book ring and hanging on the wall.

Liking the new look blog. Great take on the idea for the nesties storage. I saw the project in CS & thought it was a good idea.
Really like your take on the CS project. Lynne
