Have you noticed?? I'm getting sucked in too and because I'm also trying to incorporate fabric into my work at the moment, after much deliberation (who am I kidding!) I have signed up for Mary Ann Moss's class Remains of the Day. I've had a great afternoon messing about with bits of fabric and my sewing machine and eventually ended up with this. It won't be everyone's thing but I love the messy way it was created without too much thought and from my point of view, still ending up with something that I really like! The next stage is to make the pages. Watch this space!
The picture's not great but basically the right edge (the cut off triangular shape) folds over the front and is then casually wrapped shut with whatever you have to hand. Click on the pic to enlage for a better view.

I love this journal cover Carol. It's stunning, looks really touchy feely. I'll be looking out for the pages too!
I really like this. I've started a few journal pages but really need to do something about making the journal. The only thing is I DON'T do sewing!!! I may have to rethink as I have loads of lovely fabric to play with, x
just gorgeous, looks thrown together but cohesive at the same time! very very impressed
This looks awesome, Girl!! So glad you are taking the class!! :)
Absolutely gorgeous Carol, I can't wait to see the pages xx
Its absolutely fantastic Carol!!! I love it. Can't wait to see the pages now!
Totally lushious! Love everything about it Carol! xx
Absolutely love this, Carol - really pretty in a shabby chic way :) I used to get a zine which arrived wrapped like this and they were real treasures. Keep it up - I'll be very interested in what you get up to, lol. Much as I love the journalling idea - very much like the Altered Books we used to do - I really don't have space for any more books or I'd be having a go myself...
This is gorgeous Carol - I love it's look of antique elegance. Can't wait to see the pages.
this is amazing Carol - I wish my messing was as successful - off to nosey at the link now. :0)

This looks fabulous! You can see that you enjoyed playing;o)
Carol it's fabulous!!! I love fabric sewn together like this. Looking forward to your journal pages! It's dead easy, just colour the pages somehow, stick things on, stamp, doodle, write words if you like...that's all there is to it!! It's all about playing and enjoying the materials :)
I am completely in awe of what you have created and cannot wait to have a peek of the Journal pages. I love the organic nature of the cover. Such a stunning piece. Also, to have made your own journal is much more satisfying than a purchased one. Amazing work. Lynne M x
