Steampunk in Oxford

I don't often get round to visiting exhibitions but was keen to get to this one and it was pretty close to home as well. It's well worth a visit if you get a chance and is on till February. This is how the exhibition describes Steampunk..... (click to enlarge)

This is one of the more surreal exhibits - reminds me of an episode of Dr Who!

... and this is one of my favourite exhibits

I didn't take nearly as many photos as I should have done and some aren't good enough to reproduce here. If you get a chance Google Eric Freitas work he does the most beautiful, intricate clock designs. Actually Sarah Anderson has a few pics because she managed a visit too.

This exhibition sounds fascinating. I love your favourite piece too - there is so much detail in it and the result is just magical.

These look brilliant - reminds me of an exhibition I went to in Glasgow about 10 years ago - really intricate and completely pointless but beautiful things.

Excited to read this as I'm planning on going to the exhibition. Was in Oxford for the first time a couple of months ago and really looking forward to going back. I'm wondering if what you've seen will be influencing your work now? Will watch with interest...

Completely fascinating although still not sure if this is my "thing" or not. Which is actually irrelevant as what matters is the beauty of it. Lynne Mx
