I've not given up the paper arts, just trying different skills at the moment LOL. This is a project from an old Quilting Arts magazine which I've wanted to try for ages. It involves making a background with muslin covered in watered down PVA, tissue paper on top all crumpled and left to dry. I then painted it with Lumiere paints. The pattern was traced on the back and I pinned on the front a layer of kunin felt and 3 layers of gauze and stitched the pattern from the reverse side through all the layers. The fun part was cutting out the pattern shape with the soldering iron and the slow part was stitching on the beads! PS: It wasn't easy to get a good photograph.

Gorgeous, Carol. Love the fact that you're being adventurous. Lynne bought some textile art stuff at the Aintree show and I'm dying to see what she does, too. Love the beads - great touch :)

Carol - this is an amazing piece of work and wow - so many layers, I havn't tried the cutting with the soldering iron yet so you now have me inspired to try it. Gorgeous choice of colours and beautiful intricate work - put the paper arts to bed for a while, you're on a roll with textiles :0))
