I've been fascinated by and following Sue Bleiweiss's work for some time now. Would love to do more fibre arts but am finding it difficult to make the cross over (I stick with what I know LOL!).
I finally got around to having a go at making some silk paper recently - which was great fun and then decided to make this booklet with it courtesy of a mish mash of instructions from the free projects on the Two Creative Studios site.
Don't look too closely at my stitching, it's not perfect - that's why there are two metal crimped pieces attached to each corner!

Your book is wonderful Carol, and you should have kept quiet about the little corner pieces - I thought they were just there for embellishment. I love the clasp. I know how you feel about making the leap from one set of techniques to another. I feel exactly the same way about paper arts but am slowly getting braver!

Silk paper is a great 'fabric'. You had a lot of success, being able to make a lovely purse after your first attempt is a great achievement.

Looks wonderful, Carol and of course I had to take a look at the stitching when you told us not to, lol. It's great to branch out a bit from time to time, isn't it? Hope you enjoyed it.

OMG! That book is awesome! And I love the metal corners, I think it brings it all together with the latch. Really beautiful work. I wish I could make something like that. Fibers, sewing and textiles are not my forte' but they are obviously yours.

I wouldn't write in this either, the clasp is fab. no one wants perfect stitching, that's why it's hand crafted! I'd buy it, you should totally start selling your stuff.

to be able to make one in that style but you've gone ahead and done it superbly that clasp is the icing on the cake, very stylish.

What a fabulous book! It's beautiful! And I've noticed that all the best people say 'don't look to closely at my stitching, it's not perfect'. So then you have to look, and it's wonderful!
Hey Alco,(no booze though anywhere to be seen) that is beautifu, totally deadly ,I love it.It looks piratey, the clasp reminds me of a flintlock pistol, it shivered me timbers for sure.Are the pages blank? It would make a wonderful book of poems! ? I'm amazed at the cottage industry of crafts out there-inspirational.

This is amazing Carol and you do take to textiles so easily, I love this and the fnishing off with the clasp is gorgeous. Great choice of silk colours too.
