I made this pre-blogging and pre-rubber and ink days but I like it so much I thought I'd show it to you. Once I'd finished the stitching, I thought it would be nice to do something different other than framing it so had the needlework box specially made. I think what I like is the intricacy. I know I really enjoyed stitching it.

Beautiful, Carol
it's absolutely gorgeous. what a beautiful thing to have in your home
wow, what a lot of work has gone into this Carol - it's very beautiful and made into a needlework box is a real treasure.
What a beautiful box and a stunning design. Your stitching is perfect and you have made a family heirloom. I love beautiful things which are functional too. Your box ticks all the boxes! Thanks for that encouraging comment left on my blog - I am always nervous about using faces as a design source. I seem to do better with a needle than I do with a pencil.
Amazing Carol. How big is the panel? Looks about 12 x 12? Certainly was worth preserving and being made into this beautiful heirloom.
WOW, Carol I stitched a tiny wee Marie Queen of Scots thing and it took me FOREVER!! LOL this is absolutely stunning, love it, it's a true treasure and was well worth getting a box made.
:)
Blimey, and to think I nearly keep putting my tea on it all the time!!!
Just gorgeous!!

That must have taken hours and hours to make. Looks really beautiful. Great idea to incorporate it into a needlework box.
