Still here

Poor old blog.  It's a bit neglected at the moment.  My crafting is changing at the moment.  I feel like I need a new challenge. The stitching is taking over, I've even had a go at making some clothes and obviously the projects don't appear as fast.  Added to that, I'm doing some studying and have a couple of essays to write. It's severely taxing the poor old brain which hasn't had to cope with anything like it ever lol.

I've always liked detail so I'm making a needle case to hold all my needle packets. To start I need over 70 half inch hexagons.  (that means half inch each side)  They are tiny, hand cut and hand stitched.

They'll go along the middle of the needle case like this....

I now have to stitch them all together.  It seems to be a long road stretching away into the distance at the moment.....  but definitely fun!

I love those hexagons. They were the first method of patchwork that I tried years ago. They do take a long time but are so attractive. Hope the studying is going well and that you have had some time off to enjoy the lovely weather this weekend.

Great to see ya and blimey, you have the patience of a saint doing 70 fiddley little bitty pieces like that, but well done for getting there. Can't wait to see it when it's finished

Went to my first sewing show on 26 th April to Uttoxeter, made me realise i won't be quilting any time soon lol. Had a good time but so much to learn about threads !

You are very patient to create something so technical, admire your resolve! :-) x

Gorgeous fabrics for your tiny hexies. I always enjoy hand stitched patchwork and find it very relaxing. I am past half way making my Japanese folded patchwork squares and it will be a double quilt. It really helped time pass when my easyjet flights were delayed.

Everyone seems to be turning to sewing lately, I like the colours you are using. Don't know if I would have the patience to sew that many together xx

Those gorgeous little hexagons look so time consuming but I bet it will all be worth it.

Such pretty fabrics - looking forward to the finished piece... and would love to have a nose at the clothes some time too, if you feel like sharing them. Good luck with the studying!

I am seriously impressed, no way would I have the patience to cut & then stitch all of them together. Going to be gorgeous when it's finished.

Carol, how on earth have you had the patience to make all those? They are little works of art and I cannot wait to see the end result. Good luck with it - I am well impressed.
Hugs, Neet xx

Lovely to hear from you today - hope all continues well with the studying, and that you're still finding some time for quilting and crafting.
