Essays written back to the important stuff....

Hooray, written work finished and I can get back to what I really want to do.  The needle case is finished.

There was quite a bit of embroidery which challenged my hand sewing skills - especially trying to be accurate with the backstitch outlining the hexies

I did wobble a bit in places

I also added some beads and some french knots.

...and this is the inside all ready to go.

I also managed to visit the Quilting Show at The Three Counties Showground .  Mind boggling  - all the talent on show.. and all the fabric to buy.. I took so many photos.  Also managed a class and made this little pincushion.  It's a technique called cathedral window.

Watch out for a wall hanging later in the year.

Each is a really useful treasure. You made a lovely job of them so don't knock your stitching. I accidentally enlarged a pic of the cathedral window and it certainly passes scrutiny!
I've just finished almost 200 Japanese Folded patchwork pieces for a quilt, just need to sew them all together now and I'm just staring on a hand stitched prize for Samski.

I love the fabric. Such beautiful colours & they go so well together on the needle case. I really like the embroidered details.
That cushion is fabulous, such a burst of sunshine & beautiful pattern.
You must feel very proud of your achievements. X

Another non-sewing one here, as you know, and in awe of all these beautiful creations. The needle case is so pretty - love all those colours against the natural background - and the cathedral window technique looks fabulous (and incredibly difficult!).

Sorry I'm so many miles behind... but it was worth catching up!

These are gorgeous Carol and I especially like the place mats and coasters. Got to admit though if they were mine it would be woe betide anyone who spilt anything on them, lol!

Love the cathedral window patchwork - great zesty colours. The needlecase is so pretty and I am in awe of your embroidery skills as well as everything else.
You have a real skill with the fabric just as you have with paper.
